A Letter From Romania

January 5, 1999

Dear Bruce,

If you could peases send some bumper stickers "One Day in Peace, January 1, 2000" to my address in Craiova, Romania, also all available details about "Shine a Light for Peace".

I would like to present you a peace related activity which would be of your interest.

On Dec. 1998, I had initiated a voluntary work in the main park "Nicolae Roamnescu" of Craiova, Romania in order to celebrate "5 Dec., International Volunteer Day".

Participants from secondary schools "Traian Vuia", "Stefan Volovan", and others had cleaned the alleys, then distributed fruit and sweets to nearby nursery's babies and homeless children.

I had distributed also to participants the booklets "Steps Toward Inner Peace", some "International Volunteer Day" stickers, and "May Peace Prevail on Earth" stickers in different languages.

The mayor of Craiova, Romania had addressed to participants his full support, congratulated them, then he and the inspector had granted to participants the city emblem, and the commemorative album "Craiova - Pages of History and Civilization" in Romanian, English and French languages.

The event was announced and presented by radio Craiova, TV stations and also by the Mayoralty newspaper that related details about the event on its first page.

As much as we know the event was for the first time celebrated in Romania by us along with other dedicated people around the world, also the booklet "Steps Toward Inner Peace - Peace Pilgrim" and the message & prayer "May Peace Prevail on Earth" was publicly presented in Romania for the first time.

I had discussed with the mayor of Craiova the planting of Peace Poles in the main park "Nicolae Romanescu" and other places so, he had agreed my project so that we will do it in the near future.

I am a member of "Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy", "M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence", "Book-of-the-Month Club", and "The World Peace Prayer Society" so, for the time being I am trying to start a Peace center in Romania.

At this time I hope you'll agree to pray along with me an other dedicated peoples to the World Goodwill, with the focused mental concentration and from a heart felt desire to meet spiritual demands:

O Thou in Whom we live and move and have our being, the Power that can make all things new, turn to spiritual purposes the money in the world; touch the hearts of men and women everywhere so that they may give to the work of the Hierarchy that which has hitherto been given to material satisfaction...

May this  potent energy of Thine be in the hands of the Forces of Light...

May Peace Prevail on Earth
